CONTINUING COMPETENCY BOARD UPDATE ( 2026)
- 2026 CEU Renewal notices were sent out in an e-mail blast to the most current e-mail address on file for the registered recipient. This occurred during the first part of May. In order to be considered “Registered in Good Standing”, CEU applications and payments are to be submitted by June 15, 2026. The CEU renewal process has moved towards total online storage and renewal applications specific to the individual’s status are obtained under the member’s only section.
- The AKTA website, www.AKTA.org will list all those “Registered in Good Standing”.
Under the COPSKT heading. The list is updated monthly. Typically at this time, individual competency verification application requests are made to this office from
the VA Human Resource Departments for primary source verification of Registered Kinesiotherapists working within the VA. Each year, this office requests that individuals submit his/her CEU’s in a timely fashion so this office can respond accordingly.
- During the months of February and March, COPSKT along with the AKTA
sponsored 5 Speaker Series on various clinical topics for free continuing education
to the membership, It is our hope to offer this type of format again beginning in
February, 2027.
- Fifteen vendors have been pre-approved for COPS-KT course offerings and are listed
on the AKTA website. This includes past Speaker Series Presentations.
- Twenty four (24) Specialty Certifications have been established to recognize those individuals that have gone beyond the established requirements as an RKT. Applications are available online. Currently 26 RKT’s, are recognized as a COPSKT Specialist on the AKTA website.
- This year’s Educational Conference in Nashville, TN will be worth 12 hours of continuing education and can be utilized for either this year’s CEU requirement or next year’s.
