Module 1: Intro To Kinesiotherapy

This module must be completed before you start your clinical training program.  It consists of five power points whose titles are:  Intro to KT; Basic Anatomy; Physical Disabilities, Exercise Principles, and Therapeutic Concepts. At the end of each power point, there will be a link to its quiz.  Each quiz consists of multiple choice and true/false questions. A grade of 80% or above is needed to earn a certificate of completion.  Please print the completion certificates and have them ready to give to your site supervisor on the first day of your training. Should it be necessary, you will have an opportunity to retake the quiz after a 90 minute lock out period.

Note:  you will not be able to review any of the power point material while in the quiz menu.

Upon completion of this module the student will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of Kinesiotherapy’s history and its organizational structure and functions.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of the educational, registration eligibility, and continuing education requirements of a Kinesiotherapist.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of the basic structure, movement patterns, and systems of the human body.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of the basic principles and types of exercise.
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of common illnesses, injuries and disorders most likely to be seen within a Kinesiotherapy clinic.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge of the physical function components that effect physical performance.
  7. Demonstrate a basic knowledge of evaluation tools and therapeutic interventions.
  8. Demonstrate knowledge of commonly used medical terms.
  9. Demonstrate understanding of what a Kinesiotherapist is and their role within the allied health field.
